Construction of our new radio tower on top of our third building was completed. This allows us to have continuous Internet access via a radio link.

Together with our friends from the USA, Sweden and England, we celebrated Nana Akua Afriyie's Teachers Awards Day.

May 2004

The Ghana Education Service upgraded our school to class A, their highest ranking.

June 2004

Workshops about HIV/AIDS were given to both the students and the staff of John William Montessori School by Mrs. Monica Westin, from Sweden.

5 June 2004

John William Montessori School students provided a cultural display of dance and song as entertainment during the launching of the Non-governmental organisation Voices of African Mothers at the MPlaza Hotel in Accra, Ghana.

August 2004

For the Fourth year in a row 100% of our students who took the Basic Education Certificate Examination after completing the Juniour Secondary school passed the exam. And their marks were excellent! 19 of our 22 candidates earned distinction.

That Nothing Be Lost Thrift Store and Antique Shop located in Graymoor, Garrison, New York supports St. Christopher's Inn and its residents.

They have kindly donated left-over seasonal summer material (clothes, bedding, shoes and children's things) to the Friends of John William Education Center. Some of the things which our school cannot use, such as women's clothes, will be used by Voices of African Mothers for their needy members.

5 October 2004

Nana-Fosu Randall has purchased from Goodwill Industries a dozen children's bicycles to be sent for the school children to play on.

9 October 2004

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Lisle Fire Company of Lisle, New York has donated half a van load of children's toys, clothes, shoes and other materials.

Such support is so helpful. Their material will join other donations in a forty-foot container to be shipped to the school later this month.

14 November 2004

A luncheon benefit hosted by the Friends of the John William Education Center at the Villa Nova East restaurant in Pelham, New York was attended by about sixty supporters. The funds raised will pay part of the cost of the shipment of the forty-foot container full of donated goods which is expected to arrive in Ghana on 12 December.
